ABOUT ANNASEMBLE
Our Story
Founded more than 28 years ago by Annemieke Proker-Coron, Annasemble became an official nonprofit organization in 2017. Since its inception, the organization has been guided by the belief that music should be accessible to all, regardless of experience or background.
Through Annemieke’s vision and leadership, Annasemble expanded into three unique ensembles: the main orchestra, a select chamber ensemble, and a youth program dedicated to cultivating musical excellence and leadership in the next generation.

Founder
In 2025, Annemieke announced her retirement after 28 years of dedicated service to the community.
A search for a new leader began, and Nicholas Lewis was named the newly appointed music director beginning August 2026.
Over the years, Annasemble has grown from a string-only ensemble into a full orchestra, with each piece carefully arranged to include all instruments and support musicians of varying skill levels.
At the heart of Annasemble’s tradition is a commitment to musical diversity—embracing works from a wide range of cultures and traditions alongside the classical canon.
